What is an awning window best used for?

Awning windows are a great fit for spots where you want fresh air and privacy at once, like above a kitchen counter, in a bathroom, or high on a wall. They also pair well below or above fixed picture glass.

Are awning windows energy-efficient?

Yes. Because the sash closes against the frame with a compression seal, and we glaze them with Low-E, argon-filled units, awning windows are one of the tighter, more efficient styles for the Canadian climate.

Can I open them when it is raining?

That is their signature feature. The glass tilts out like a small awning, so you can leave the window open for airflow during light rain without water coming straight in.

Are awning windows secure?

They are. Awning windows lock at several points along the frame and the hardware sits out of reach when the window is closed, which makes them tough to open from outside. Laminated glass is available where you want extra security.

How long does installation take?
